Lightweight PoE for Starlink Approved for DIU’s Blue UAS Framework

We’re proud to share that TILT Autonomy’s Lightweight Power over Ethernet (PoE) device has been officially approved by the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) for inclusion in the Blue UAS Framework under the “Data Transmission Device” category.

We’re proud to share that TILT Autonomy’s Lightweight Power over Ethernet (PoE) device has been officially approved by the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) for inclusion in the Blue UAS Framework under the “Data Transmission Device” category. This milestone is part of DIU’s Blue UAS Refresh program, aimed at expanding the range of trusted, cyber-secure, and scalable unmanned systems technologies for defense applications.

The Blue UAS Framework & Why It Matters

The Blue UAS Framework is the Department of Defense’s (DoD) initiative to streamline the approval process for secure, NDAA-compliant commercial drone and autonomy technologies. By joining this ecosystem, TILT Autonomy’s Lightweight PoE is now recognized as a secure, government-vetted solution for powering and integrating Starlink connectivity into unmanned systems.

Lightweight PoE: Power & Data for Starlink-Enabled Autonomy

Our Lightweight PoE device enables DC-powered Starlink integration in autonomous air and ground platforms, providing ruggedized, high-efficiency connectivity with advanced DroneCAN support. Unlike other solutions, it allows operators to enable/disable power and monitor voltage and current telemetry, ensuring greater control and situational awareness for defense missions.

With multiple receiver compatibility, robust thermal protection, and a compact form factor, this device bridges a critical capability gap—bringing secure, high-bandwidth communications to unmanned systems.

What’s Next?

This approval enhances our ability to deliver cutting-edge, mission-ready autonomy solutions to the DoD and allied partners. As we continue to push the boundaries of secure, scalable UxS innovation, we look forward to working with operators and integrators across the defense ecosystem.
