Autonomous UxS Defense Systems

Delivering reliable and high-performance UxS autonomy solutions that empower our clients to achieve mission success.

About us

Autonomous Solutions for Critical Missions

At TILT Autonomy, we unleash the power of unmanned systems (UxS) to empower complex missions and coordinated operations. Our team of experts in Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems, hardware design, and prototyping deliver custom UxS solutions tailored to meet specific mission requirements.

Scalable autonomy solutions in months. Not years.

Quickly building rugged, attritable, and scalable autonomy is essential to operating in contested environments.

Unified Autonomy Approach

We believe that true quality in vehicle autonomy can only be achieved by mastering the entire process from start to finish. That's why we focus on end-to-end solutions, integrating expertise across every stage of development, from design and prototyping to testing and deployment. By controlling the entire workflow, we ensure seamless integration, optimal performance, and unparalleled reliability.

We leverage powerful simulation tools to train AI algorithms and prepare real-world warfighters for future missions. Our intuitive and secure operational management systems enable seamless control of unmanned fleets, allowing for real-time mission planning, monitoring, and execution. With our Intelligent C2 Systems, you gain the edge in mission readiness and operational effectiveness.

Our team offers comprehensive hardware design and prototyping services to create rugged, reliable UxS platforms that are production-ready and scalable from day one. We ensure that every design meets the highest standards for durability and performance, enabling seamless transition from prototype to full-scale production.

Whether you’re developing a new vehicle from the ground up or enhancing an existing one with autonomous capabilities, our expertise ensures that your platform—new or legacy—can be seamlessly integrated into an open-source framework.

At the core of every autonomous system lies Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC). It’s the backbone that empowers machines to make real-time decisions, adapt to dynamic environments, and achieve precise outcomes. Our team possesses deep expertise in Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems for precise positioning and maneuverability for land, sea and air.

Ryan Beall
Founder // CEO

Ryan Beall // Founder

Ryan Beall, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of TILT Autonomy and a former Naval Aviator, has led the research and development of autonomous solutions at multiple national security-focused defense technology companies, including time as the Chief Engineer for Anduril’s Ghost small UAS (sUAS) program and Chief Architect of Kraus Hamdani Aerospace’s record breaking solar-powered Group 2 unmanned aerial system. While in uniform, he co-founded and led the Defense Innovation Unit’s Rogue Squadron team, responsible for development of the small UAS cyber-hardening solution used by the US federal government.

Mark Jacobsen
Director // Research & Development

Mark Jacobsen // Director of R&D

Dr. Mark Jacobsen (Lt Col, USAF, Retired), Director of Research and Development, is a retired US Air Force leader and strategist with a rich background in foreign affairs, technology, and innovation. He previously founded and led Rogue Squadron at the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU), delivering advanced UAS/C-UAS capabilities to warfighters worldwide. In that role he developed Dowding, a cloud-based drone detection network fielded worldwide, including in the National Capital Region by NORAD/NORTHCOM. Dr. Jacobsen previously founded and led Uplift Aeronautics, a nonprofit that aimed to use swarms of humanitarian drones to break sieges. He holds a PhD from Stanford University.

“I have known the TILT Autonomy leadership for 6 years from previous teams and worked with them on previous DoD and USAF projects. I have always known their contributions and efforts to be of consistent, superior quality, with outsized positive impacts for our nations Warfighters and Airmen.”
